Dr. Death

Release Date: 2000-01-01
ISBN: 679459618

Recent headlines have thrust the question of “Whose life, is it anyway?” to the forefront of our national consciousness. Working in a cancer unit and serving on a committee that struggled to draw up guide-lines about termination of care, I was exposed to the issue decades ago. I propose no facile solutions. However, I do think we need to be careful assuming we know what patients want. The slippery slope is, indeed, perilous. The story begins when a self-styled “mercy-killer” perhaps fueled by motives less than pure, is found dispatched rather nastily. Whose death is it, anyway?

Delaware and Sturgis struggle to find out.
